Errr...

So this whole keeping up with a blog thing is pretty hard. Then again I have the attention span of a kitty on catnip. Which is to say I get distracted and procrastinate on things that I should be doing. Great example: I can never make dinner because as soon as I have everything going and hot on the stove, I suddenly remember that I forgot the laundry, or that there's this new song that I want to download. So I wander off and go do that, leaving the food on the stove. And it usually ends up burning. Thats why I try  to avoid having to make dinner.
Anyway I was going to say something. Oh yes. Tea. There is a new store that opened at the mall. It sells tea and other tea related products. Apparently its very popular, which leads me to my next question; why do people drink tea? Honestly I've tried to drink teas, really I have but I just can't stand the taste of it. It tastes nasty. And I know people who drink tea will be all like "oh, but you haven't tried the right kind of tea." or "No you can't buy the bagged kind you have to buy the loose leaf kind its much better." But it just doesn't taste right to me. Honestly I wish I was the type of person who could sit and drink tea on a cold winter day. Really the idea is very appealing to me. But i just can't seem to be able to drink it. Kind of like sushi. The idea is nice and everyone seems to like it, but I just can't bring myself to eat it.

Ten years later...

I forgot all about this blog. Oops. In my defense though, I lost my laptop and had intermittent access to the internet. Here's whats new since December.
  • I got a job
  • I am now actively looking for a different job
  • I got a new laptop (its pretty awesome i love it)
  • I am planning on going to NYC around New Years.
Pretty awesome right? A friend went there last year and invited me to go with her this year with her brother. Here's the catch. I have to save up enough money for plane tickets, lodging, and other miscellaneous costs such as food, transportation, and souvenirs. And my minimum wage job pays just enough for my insurance and gas for my car, with only a little bit left over for extra costs. Luckily though, we might be able to crash at one of her friends apartment up in NYC, so lodging will be taken care of. But still, things will be more expensive then they are here. But I'm sure it'll be worth. So all I have to do is really buckle down and stop spending so much money on things I don't need. Starting tomorrow. Or next week. I'm not too sure yet, it depends on my next paycheck.

vacay

So today I have started the packing process for my trip to Mexico this Christmas. And by started, I mean I briefly thought about it,  pulled out my suitcase, then got too lazy to actually start packing any clothes. Procrastination: 1 Me: 0. Woo. Staring at my suitcase has me thinking about all the clothes I'll need to pack. I mean, I'll be gone for three weeks, stuck in another country. Also I'll be walking around a LOT. So I can either pack sensible tennis shoes and flats. or I can go with flats and spiky heels that I got the other day. The heels are nice though. That's it they're coming with me. In the suitcase they go.

So gross...

I really hate when people stick their used gum underneath chairs and tables. Especially when there's a trash can sitting not even 2 feet away. Seriously.

Here's the story:
I went to plug in my laptop at the library, and for some reason the plug is underneath the table. No problem just need to crawl under the table and plug it in. So I plug it in and start to scoot out from under the table when I hit my head. Ow. I reach my hand up to rub the spot (that's what she said), and I feel this gross hard thing stuck under the table. I look up and its chewed gum. Freaking gum. Its covered in people's chewed gum. It is so nasty on all sorts of levels. It touched my hair. SO GROSS. I hate it when people do that. It is one of my biggest pet peeves. Along with bad grammer and misspelled words. And a couple other things, too. I had a friend who would do that, though, stick her gum under the table. I asked her once 'Why would you do that, its so gross." She said it was because the gum had lost its flavor and it was funny to leave it there to annoy people. Yea so not funny. We do not speak anymore.

Lili, Lilly, Lily and other exciting things

A little something that happened to me today. I went to see the academic advisor today to see if I could test out of a class. A little bit of background info; when you're going to see an academic advisor or anyone else of note, you have to type in your full name into a laptop that they have and click on who you want to see. For example if your name is John Doe and you want to speak to someone about a scholarship, you type in your full name and click on where it says Financial Aid, then go and sit and wait for them to call out your name. Easy enough, right? Well apparently not because some people are truly and utterly confused as to what they need to do. Seriously. There was this group of girls standing there going, "Like, what do I have to do? Whats this little laptop thing for? Oh you have to type in your name. Do I put my full name or what? Wait who do I need to talk to again? I have no idea what's going on..." *facepalm* Finally they manage to figure it out and go off giggling and chattering like loonies. I do my thing and go sit in the waiting area. Since it's near the end of the fall semester there's a lot of people waiting to talk to the advising department, so it's a bit of a wait. I look around and see how many other people are waiting. I do this partly in case I recognize someone and partly so I can see who came before me so I can be ready when my name is called. I sit and wait. And wait. Did I mention that it smelled of men's cologne and chili cheese nachos for some reason? Other people come in and sign into the computer and sit down, particularly this one girl I'll call my doppelganger, or DG. DG signs in and flops down into one of the empty chairs and immediately pulls out her cell phone and starts texting. Takka, takka tik Note that she signs in after I have. So we're waiting for about hour which is reasonable enough. The line for advising is moving rather slow but thats normal (last minute changes, holds, etc.) Finally one of the advisors finishes with their student and calls out my name. Now my name is not that uncommon. There are a lot of people named Lili (or some variation of that). There are fewer people named Liliana, but they're still out there. Anyway he calls out my name, "Liliana!" Yes, my turn, finally. I go to gather my paper and bag and as I'm grabbing them DG (the girl who came AFTER I did) launches herself out of her chair, practically runs towards the advisor and lands in the chair in front of him. All this happens in less than a minute. Literally. By the time I'm getting up to walk over she's already sitting down talking to him. I was left in the dust going "Umm?" I know, I know, I should gone up to her and asked her to move over, but I'm not exactly the confrontational type. This is the third time this has happened (other girls named Lili have taken my spot.) Those times I did ask them to move over and they were nice enough about it, but this time I said eff that and left. I considered retyping my name into the system but I had a test to take half an hour later and I didn't have the time or patience. So I left. Best part? Right as I was leaving a different advisor called out HER name. "Lily Garcia?" She had typed in Lily. Not even Liliana just Lily. And she still went when they called out Liliana. Smh. "Oh thats me" she said. Grand.
One good thing happened today though. As I was waiting in the hallway for my next class to start, one of the guitar playing students started playing AC/DC's Back in Black. That is by far one of the greatest songs ever and my favorite! So I was treated to an acoustic version of that song right before my test. Made me feel better about today.
That was a long rant. I'll try and keep it to a minimum from now on. Till next time.

1st!!!

So this is my first blog as you may have noticed. To keep it simple my name is Lili though some people refer to me as Lil. Very few people are actually allowed to call me Lil so don't get any ideas. Let's see, I currently attend community college though I am working very hard to change that by next year. I am the youngest out of my family, but I don't act like a spoiled brat (most of the time.) I wanted to start a blog so I can have somewhere to release my passive aggresiveness and comment on different things I see throughout my day as I go through school, family life friends etc etc...
For example, for many college students this week is finals week. A lot of people I know are completely stressed out studying for exams or else worried about exams they already took and moaning about questions they answered wrong. I see people in the library furtively typing up last minute essays (which I should probably also be doing) or flipping through giant textbooks and filling out stacks of review sheets. Seeing everyone studying so hard makes me feel kinda bad, since I'm not studying at all. Of the 4 classes I took this semester (high achiever I know) only two of them are difficult. And by difficult I mean I have to write a 5 page essay in one and test in the other. I should have taken more classes. I feel like such a slacker. Erg. Well anyway I'll keep posting just in case anyone happens to stumble across this ridiculously long blog.
Til next time
